About

A native of North Carolina, but loving Tennessee since moving there in 1986, my time these days is spent mostly with my passion for photography.  Since retiring in early 2007, I’ve been blessed with plenty of time to indulge myself in that love.

Before reaching my current status, I was fortunate to be engaged in a number of varied careers.  After 3 years in the US Army, the next nine were spent with Xerox in sales and sales management.  The following 17 years were immersed in the music business, first as a sales rep for a Christian music publisher and record company and ultimately as president of the company for the final 7 years.

My last “paying gig” was with Thomas Nelson Publishers, where I held positions in Sales, Publishing, and Marketing.  My most recent assignment was as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer.

When I’m not behind the camera or in front of the computer editing images, you can usually find me with my family, the church, friends, other camera buffs, or scratching out my opinions on this and that.

My interest in photography began a long time ago.  I think I’ve always been drawn to dramatic images, both black & white and color.  For me, a well composed and developed photo is one of the highest forms of emotional satisfaction.  It is art and does for me all the things that art is supposed to do.

Now that I am able to spend so much time at it, I could not be happier.  Life is sweet.  God is good.
